Liret

A warm, light-filled settlement of free craftspeople at the southern edge of the forest: potters, weavers, dyers, herbalists, papermakers.

Liret does not have a mayor or a council. It has traditions, and the traditions say: you may work at whatever you choose, sell to whomever you like, and keep what you earn. If someone needs help, you help. If someone causes harm, the guild masters meet and decide what to do about it — and so far, in living memory, that has been enough.

The buildings are low and open, with wide workshops facing south to catch the light. The market happens on every third day, and people come from two days in every direction to trade. Liret paper and Liret dye are known as far as the coast.
